World Federalists Oppose the Globalization of the 90s!!

Copyright April 28, 2001 by John R. Ewank
To the extent that world federalist organizations have been "cat's paw" for the US State Department and CIA, NAFTA and the globalization of the '90s may have had some appearance of federalist support. Individual federalists and some federalist organizations such as AMWG have recognized that modifications of the treaty system are generally irrelevant to attaining global jurisdiction for governing individuals.
For about a century, the CIA and predecessors have proven to be more proficient in prolonging the anachronisms of the treaty system than world federalists have been in clarifying the urgency of the drastic transformation of substantially abolishing the treaty system. Whether the future will bring ecocide, global tyranny, or a democratic emancipating world federation is presently unknowable. Both the communities of life and grass roots humans would certainly benefit from globally emancipating individuals through world federalism.
The world now has a form of world governance through the interlocking boards of multi-national corporations, which manipulates the puppet-like politicians. In the USA, the number of non-voters in presidential elections can be as high as 50.5% in 1996 to as low as 49.5%, depending upon how many millions of dollars are wasted on mass media. Such mass media is controlled by said interlocking directorate of multi-national corporations. Until and unless federalists, through their person-to-person conversations with acquaintances, can dominate the influence on Conscientious Objectors to Bipartisan Monopoly [labeled as apathetic non-voters by mass media], federalists are likely to encounter many frustrations in any seeking mass protest against mass media patterns. Similarly, those seeking to develop better concepts [think tank projects] are also likely to encounter frustration. Each federalist needs to be "true to himself" with an awareness that federalism is an extremely important concept which will not be achieved in the next 100 days. Whether the result will be ecocide, global tyranny, or a Democratic Emancipating World Federation is presently unknowable.
Evolution involves both gradual cultural changes during plateaus and spectacular "jumps". I am among those who contend that segments of the Establishments will help to expedite the drastic transformation for achieving a Democratic Emancipating Federation of the World because it will be extremely helpful to such segments. Such segments of the establishment will stimulate the mass media manipulations for arousing the masses, even though traditional federalists have lacked adequate clout with mass media. Such transformation might involve a scuttling of tools formerly useful to the establishments, but now anachronisms. For example, national political parties, national militarism, and national monetarism are useful within a treaty system, but anachronisms within world federalism.

A supra-national federation might be attainable within 100 months, but not 100 weeks. If a transformation might be attainable only in remote decades, efforts to stimulate financial support from the masses are likely to flounder. Now is the time for returning to think-tanks, not the time for globally seeking impressive street demonstrations advocating ratification of a constitution for a supra-national federation. World federalists are think-tankers for the centuries, not activists for this week's political issues. Obviously many federalists will join in protests against prolongation of the 20th century globalization.
